- Temperature resistance: from approx. –20°C to +200°C, depending on the type, even higher
- Chemical resistance: highly resistant to oils, fuels, solvents, ozone and UV radiation
- Durability: excellent ageing and weather resistance
- Density: higher than other elastomers – typically above 1.8 g/cm³
